NymVPN in March 2025: From launch to Quince
NymVPN Quince improves UX and performance following commercial launch of app
The NymVPN Quince release marks the first wave of app improvements from all your feedback on the Help Center and community channels, so thank you! The Nym team is working around the clock to improve app and network performance.
Here’s a recap of everything that changed since the launch of NymVPN last month, and some of the big features coming soon!
Commercial launch of NymVPN
NymVPN was commercially launched on 13 March 2025 at the Frontline Club in London, England. Two crucial app features were introduced: a kill switch for leak prevention and gateway selection for customizing your routing through the Nym network.
Kill switch
With NymVPN Papaya (v2025.4), a kill switch was made live for desktop apps, with a native kill switch on Android and iOS using VPN rules. A robust kill switch for iOS is in the works!
Note that the kill switch is currently activated by default. Coming releases will include a toggle for users.
Gateway selection
A key feature of the Nym network is the ability to explore and choose particular gateways in-app based on their performance and stake.

You can also now explore the Nym ecosystem of node operators through a newly improved Nym Explorer.
Payments
You can now buy a NymVPN subscription with Lightning, Monero, and USDT on Tron!
NymVPN Quince (v2025.5)
NymVPN’s latest release on 25 March 2025 improves on app performance and user experience, addressing a number of bugs reported by the community following launch. Thanks again to everyone who took the time to file reports – keep them coming!
All apps feature enhancements to in-app messaging, animations, and color with improved light/dark mode support.
Installation and stability
The installation process for Windows and Linux apps was updated. Significant improvements were also made to connectivity and initial connection on Windows, Linux, macOS, and Android.
Android
A LAN bypass toggle was introduced.
Account and time synchronization errors
Some users were experiencing timestamp errors, and fixes were introduced for all apps. If you are still experiencing this, please check whether the clock on your device is synced or reach out through the Help Center.
What’s coming
NymVPN is just getting started. 2025 will be a big year for new features. Top priorities for the coming month include:
- A free trial version so people can test out the app before purchasing Split tunneling to optimize your use of both the Fast Mode and Anonymous Mode for desired traffic and apps
- Improved censorship resistance – check out the dev and research teams’ roadmap
- And much more!
