New versions of the Nym software have now been released — the final one of 2022!
Nym software weekly update was released earlier this week.
We constantly update and improve our software. So if you are running older versions of Nym wallet or NymConnect, you should be getting an auto updater notification to update your software. Alternatively you can download the latest versions of the products and platform binaries from the Nym website.
Nym is open source and can be forked by anyone wishing to extend functionality.
What’s new in the Nym platform?
This release adds multiple Single Use Reply Blocks (SURBs) to allow arbitrarily sized anonymised replies. At the moment this feature is turned off by default, but available for use by the application developers. We will need to wait for all the network-requesters to upgrade to this new release first, before multi-SURB anonymisation can become the default setting for the SOCKS proxy clients.
The release also includes some additional work for distributed key generation in the Coconut signing authority nodes.

What’s new in NymConnect?
In addition to bug fixes, performance improvements and better error handling, this release contains the new opt-in Test & Earn program that anyone can join to stress test the network and earn NYM tokens. You can read more about the program here.
This version also uses a stress-tested directory of network requesters to improve reliability.

What’s new in Nym wallet?
And finally the latest release of the Nym wallet includes a cool new feature called the Playground for the Node operators. If you run a mix node, you can find Playground under the Node Settings. Play around with different parameters to get better and more accurate reward estimations and active set selection probability of your node.
