The Nym wallet is the interface to the Nym privacy system. Use it to keep your tokens, bond a node into Nym mainnet or Sandbox testnet, or delegate NYMs to mix nodes as reputation and earn a share of their staking rewards.

To use the wallet simply download it from here. The wallet is open source, unpermissioned and can be forked by anyone wishing to extend functionality.

In this post we describe some of the new features in v1.0.2:

1. The main new feature is that the wallet now has a section for vesting tokens, allowing usage of unvested (locked) tokens in the main network. This allows the community to bootstrap a healthy mixnet from day 1.

NYM token vesting schedule for vesting accounts

If you bought Option 2 in the CoinList sale or are part of Nym’s previous testnets and eligible for rewards, this means you will be able to bond or delegate your vested and unvested NYM tokens from the moment your wallet address is in NYM’s vesting contract — scheduled for early May for Option 2 and slightly earlier for testnet participants.

Using NYM balance or locked tokens for delegation

If you bought Option 1 in the CoinList sale, and you want to run a node or delegate to one, you will need to convert your ERC20 tokens to native NYM tokens using a bridge. Stay tuned for further instructions on how to do this. Once you have your native NYM tokens, use the wallet to bond or delegate.

2. The Nym wallet now also has the ability to add a password. This feature eliminates the need to use your mnemonic every time you want to log in to the wallet but means that there will be one more piece of information that you will have to keep safe in addition to your mnemonic. If you forget your password, you can log in using your mnemonic. But If you lose your mnemonic, there is nothing we can do to help you. Note that at the moment if you create multiple accounts on the same machine only one of them can have a password associated with it. In the next release we will add the feature to create multiple accounts under the same login.

3. The wallet also selects the next active validator, if the default one is not working. This feature improves the reliability of the wallet considerably.

As always we would love to hear your comments and feedback on Nym Twitter or Telegram.
