The Nym team has been rowing day and night through seas of bug reports and cantankerous code to address connection issues across all apps. As a result, NymVPN v2025.10 includes many performance and connection optimizations. Here’s everything that’s new with this release and what to look for next.

Note: A new iOS app is currently in preparation for the Apple Store to meet the (new) requirement for in-app payments. The good news: stay tuned for a streamlined way to pay.

Bug fixes for all apps

The One Hour Bug is no more

Users reported a big bug across all apps on the Fast mode (WireGuard) where disconnection occurred at exactly the 1hr mark. This One Hour Bug has now been smooshed! Sayonara ! Adieu ! (But tell us if you see it around somewhere please).

Bandwidth exhaustion

Some people reported unexpectedly running out of bandwidth with NymVPN’s fair usage policy. The app is now enabled to issue top ups more easily.

Disobedient daemon

There were multiple reports of the daemon not starting without network connection. The daemon has now been whipped back in line with the Nym project of providing privacy for all of humanity.

Big boosts for Android

Many connection improvements

  • Reported onGrapheneOS: NymVPN stays connected while the Internet stops working after some time. Like you, Nym thinks it should be connected only if the Internet is, and so it shall be.
  • Reported on GrapheneOS and Linux Mint: NymVPN loses connection when the screen is off – it’s ok, you can safely put your phone in your pocket.
  • Many new fixes for frequent disconnects and silent disconnects without notifications

Sticky user experience

  • Some people noted that the main view in-app is only partially scrollable – go all the way down now!
  • Fix for “NymVPN isn’t responding. Close or wait?” system prompt not dismissing – no more sticky questions
  • Fix for blank logs. Please check and see if they’re there…

Desktop apps more grounded

New auto-updater Windows

No need to search out the latest version of NymVPN somewhere – let NymVPN find its own new self.

Windows, Linux, & MacOS

The mixnet client was reported to fail to start. This was due to persistent storage failure, which has been resolved on all three apps.

MacOS

A fix was made for an invalid initial offline state. If you insist: Fetching of initial default routes asynchronously caused the initial connectivity to yield no routes and indicate offline status. There, we said it.

What’s next

The Nym team has now doubled-down on a core goal before all others: to improve app stability and connectivity as much as possible. This all starts with the reporting you’re all doing in the wild, so thank you!

The technology behind the world’s most private network is there, but we know your portal to it needs to be glitch-free. So keep up to date with NymVPN’s roadmap for 2025 as well as the Help Center where bugs are reported, documented, and resolved!

Beyond that, read up on Nym’s plans for censorship resistance and post-quantum security this year.

Core features to look for in the first half of 2025 are:

  • More payments methods (including PayPal, stablecoins, and ERC-20)
  • In-app payments
  • DNS customization
  • Split tunneling v1
  • Advanced censorship resistance measures
