Privacy loves company — what does that mean?
Privacy loves company — this is true on an emotional, technical and economic level. Nym loves when new people join the community as it helps evolve the project and its purpose in the world.
Privacy loves company is technically true, because the Nym mixnet technology becomes stronger the more people use it. The term comes from the world of privacy tech, from a concept called “anonymity sets” that describes when entities are grouped together so that individual entities become hard to trace and are “lost in the crowd”. This is a collective approach to privacy — mass privacy as a means to resist mass surveillance!
Privacy loves company is economically true, as the NYM token is essential for the financial viability of mix node operators and for the security of the system. The wider the token is distributed and the more people who hold, trade and stake it, the stronger and more resilient the system becomes economically.
