Versions: iOS v2.12.0 | v2.3.0 | Linux v1.18.0 | Windows v1.18.0
After months of work building the infrastructure for advanced anti-censorship features for NymVPN, Nym is releasing NymVPN v2025.17 with QUIC-enabled gateways for the Fast mode and the new Stealth API Connect. This latest release is available for Windows, Linux, and iOS, and Android. A new app for macOS will follow shortly!
This release is a big step forward for NymVPN, and marks the beginning of more crucial features to deliver a free and open internet to everyone. But first, here’s everything that’s new with NymVPN.
Introducing QUIC

The QUIC protocol is now available to toggle on in your NymVPN app while connected through the Fast mode. Enabling it will display only QUIC-enabled gateways in the server selection.
QUIC is a protocol that wraps your TCP connection in UDP. What this means for you is that your connections can bypass surveillance techniques, like deep packet inspection, that block your connection based on the protocol you’re using. Read more about how QUIC functions as an anti-surveillance tool.
Infrastructure for Stealth API Mode
Next up in NymVPN’s arsenal fighting global internet censorship is the brand new Stealth API Connect. This background feature (always on) allows your app to communicate with the Nym network in a resilient way so that your traffic is less easily targeted and blocked if the Nym network is.
US state-based gateway selection

Following extensive work in improving gateway selection and information about the servers you’re using, you can now choose your NymVPN gateway in the US based on the specific state you want to use.
This gives you more fine-grained selection of your access point to the web. As the internet in places as large as the United States splinters through state-based regulations and bans, this will be an important component of gaining access to information and content.
Improvements and additions
