Nyx chain upgrade today (22 February 2025)

The Nym blockchain (called “Nyx”) will very shortly be undergoing a chain upgrade (yes, another following the recent successful upgrade on Thursday). Here’s everything you need to know.
When?
Validators were assembled yesterday and voted on a second chain upgrade to commence at block height 16 912 345. This is estimated to land today at approximately 9:55 UTC.
How will the upgrade affect me?
As with Nyx’s last upgrade, which went smoothly, the network should upgrade very quickly with no impact on our users. However, chain “halts” remain a possibility. This would temporarily affect all Nym services, including NymVPN which relies on blockchain validators to issue and redeem zk-nyms, as well as the staking and bonding of NYM tokens.
Where can I stay up to date on the upgrade?
If a chain halt does occur, the Nym core team will work closely with validators to restart the chain and ensure rapid return to normal services. You will be informed of any delays on the Nym community channels.
A successful chain upgrade will be announced immediately across Nym community and social channels.
