It’s time: Nym Shipyard Level 1 is about to begin! Nym Shipyard is a massive online open course — a free six-week educational initiative training the next generation of privacy Builders, Operators and Visionaries to step up and be part of shaping the future internet.

Level 1 of Nym Shipyard will kick off with talks by CEO Harry Halpin and Chelsea Manning. It all begins on Monday 9 October.
Registrations will close at 23:59 CET today, so be quick and sign up now if you don’t want to miss it!
This blog post provides an overview of Level 1 and everything you’ll need in order to complete the first two weeks of Nym Shipyard successfully!
Nym Shipyard: What does it take to complete Level 1?
All you need to do is join Discord or Matrix and keep an eye out for streaming links, readings, and the exams.
Over the next two weeks, these two channels will be announcing:
- Live lectures streaming on YouTube and Twitch.
- Videos and reading material to prepare you for the Level 1 exam.
The best in class will be rewarded from the Level 1 reward pool!
The Level 1 exam will take place on Saturday 21 Oct at the following times:
10:00 CET: 한국인, Indonesian, 中文, 日本語, tiếng-việt
11:00 CET: English, Русский, Français, Türkçe, Українcькa
19:00 CET: Español, Português

Level 1: A-list guest speakers!
Joining Nym CEO and cofounder Harry Halpin, Nym researcher Chelsea Manning, Nym cofounder and chief scientist Claudia Diaz, and Nym chief strategy officer Jaya Klara Brekke, the first two weeks of Nym Shipyard will feature esteemed guest speakers including:
- Evin McMullen, cofounder and CEO of digital identity privacy project Disco.xyz.
- Kenny Li, cofounder and COO of modular blockchain blockchain for zero-knowledge applications, Manta Network.
- Alan Scott, cofounder of the on-chain zero-knowledge privacy ecosystem Railgun.
More incredible guest speakers for Level 2 and 3 will be announced in the coming days and weeks, including Alex Pruden, CEO of Aleo, and Zooko Wilcox-O’Hearn, CEO of the Electric Coin Company and creator of financial privacy project Zcash!

Monday 9 October — Welcome to Nym Shipyard! Opening ceremony.
4–5pm CET:
- A future where privacy is the default with Nym CSO Jaya Klara Brekke
- Community orientation with Nym Community Lead, Sudo, and Huxian of Pineapple Hive
- Guided tour of Nym community channels, Nym Wallet, apps and tooling. (Note: to get your POAP from the opening ceremony you will need to fill in the form.)
Wednesday 11 October
4–5pm CET:
- Nym: fixing the broken internet masterclass with Nym founder and CEO Harry Halpin.
Meet the founder and CEO of Nym and hear the fascinating story of what led him to start the project, how it combines mixnet and blockchain technology, and the problems Nym solves.
Friday 13 October
