Official launch of NymVPN in March 2025

Dear Nym community,

Last month we succeeded in delivering a stable version of the NymVPN app for all platforms. We’re now pleased to announce that the commercial version of NymVPN will be launched on 13 March 2025 in London!

I wanted to say thank you for all your support, feedback, and patience over the last years. The Nym community is a core part of Nym’s mission in bringing real online privacy protections to a world that needs it now more than ever.

NymVPN will be the first VPN app to include a Noise Generating Mixnet which protects not only the content of your messages, but also your patterns of communication. It will also be the first to offer users unlinkable payments through zk-nyms. No more VPN scams and empty promises.

The 13 March launch date has been set to ensure the dev team has enough time to complete important security features. We remain committed to not launching NymVPN until it is complete with:

• A killswitch across all apps
• Amnezia WireGuard for censorship resistance
• Individual gateway selection
• Zk-nyms for unlinkable payments

When NymVPN reaches consumers, it will do what it should: provide true anonymity protections where all other products fail. For Nym, this is non-negotiable.

But we still need your help: keep testing the app while it’s free, and help us test the payment system when it goes live at the end of this month.

On that note, we also have something special in store for you in February: a demonstration of the perpetual NYM buyback mechanism through NymVPN subscriptions. Let’s see the NYM utility token in action!

And with a new network Explorer coming in the next weeks, you will be able to discover and stake on nodes to earn a share of rewards yourself.
