Decentralized WireGuard

All traffic is routed through 2 decentralized servers through the WireGuard encryption protocol for faster connections.

WireGuard is not specifically designed for decentralized routing, so Nym has adapted the protocol to work with the Nym network.

With the Fast Mode with WireGuard, only entry and exit gateways from the mixnet are used, bypassing mix nodes.

There is no added network noise added for WireGuard mode (no data mixing, cover traffic, or timing obfuscations).
