Tor
Tor is an encrypted routing network designed to anonymize user traffic. It consists of a three-server, decentralized network of nodes run by volunteers. User traffic is onion encrypted with multiple-layers of encryption. While Tor is structurally similar to the Nym Noise Generating Mixnet (NGM), is has less privacy protections. Nym builds on Tor's decentralized routing model by adding additional network noise: cover traffic, data mixing, and timing obfuscation.
