NymVPN Nectarine (v2025.2) is live

NymVPN Nectarine follows the release of Mirabelle in January and the launch of AmneziaWG for default censorship resistance on the Fast Mode. With Nectarine, offline detection in Mirabelle has now been extended to all apps for greater connection stability.

But most importantly, the Nym dev team is proud to show off a hotly demanded feature: gateway selection. In addition to selecting a location from which to enter or exit, you can now also pick your preferred gateway providers based on their performance, trust, and total stake.

Gateway selection

It has long been a dream from the Nym community: choosing in-app one of the many nodes available in a location that you trust and want to promote has. And rightly so: it’s not just the cornerstone of Nym’s token incentivized network of operators, but also a way of being able to ensure a localized connection if certain nodes are blocked or temporarily down. Or for simpler means, you can simply choose a location (e.g., a country) without needing to select specific gateways.

The first version of gateway selection is finally here on Android, and will soon be available on all apps for the commercial launch of NymVPN to the world on 13 March 2025.

Paired with the upcoming Nym Explorer V2, users will be able to explore all the available nodes on the network and choose the gateways in a location they prefer based on performance scores and staking.

Offline detection

Knowing when and if your device is connected is crucial for people using a VPN. NymVPN has now extended its improved offline detection system to all apps to assure you that your connectivity is displayed correctly as well as when it needs to reconnect.

Keep in mind that with the launch of NymVPN in March, there will also be a kill switch to prevent any accidental leaks coming from connectivity issues.
