New pricing for NymVPN: The app has grown up
We're adding a 6-month plan, retiring the 2-year plan, and updating prices to reflect a more mature app that's still the most private VPN of all. Lock in the 2-year plan before it's gone!

NymVPN has grown up a lot. It now stands on par with other centralized VPNs on the features you'd expect, with a big difference: it actually protects your privacy in a way they structurally can’t.
A lot of that progress came from our community: months of testing, feedback, and real-world use helped us stabilize performance and smooth the rough edges. Thank you for that. NymVPN now has:
- Faster and more reliable connections, especially in China
- 1-click connection configurations like Safest, Random, and saved Favorites + Recents
- Ad blocking powered by Brave
- Mixnet tuning to customize your traffic patterns
As the app has matured, its price will be changing to reflect the value it now delivers. The new plans are also simpler, built around durations that fit how people actually use a VPN. You pick how long you want to commit, and the total cost will reflect that commitment. That’s it.
Changes to plan types

We're adding a 6-month plan to give people more flexibility between a 1 month try and 1 year. This makes Nym one of the only VPNs to offer a mid-duration option.
At the same time, we're retiring the 2-year plan. We expect that this will be a clearer set of options for most users to decide year-by-year.
Note: Once the new pricing takes effect, the NymVPN 2-year plan won't be available to new or upgrading subscribers. Your current 2-year plan will auto-renew as a 1-year plan if you decide to stay on.
Your last chance at the 2-year price
If a longer commitment suits you, now is the moment. You can still get the 2-year plan at its current price of $2.39 per month: the lowest NymVPN is likely to ever be. Already with us? You can upgrade to the 2-year plan on the same terms before it's gone.
Priced for what it's become
NymVPN does more than it ever has: the price is simply catching up. The goods news that NymVPN is still the cheapest VPN on the market, outranking or on par with centralized VPNs, all while offering the most advanced privacy stack available.
How NymVPN prices compare
VPN provider | Monthly | 6 months | 1 year |
|---|---|---|---|
Nym | $8.00 | $6 | $4.00 |
Mullvad | $5.71 | – | $5.71 |
IVPN | $6.00 | – | $5.00 |
Windscribe | $9.00 | – | $5.79 |
Proton VPN | $9.99 | – | $3.99 |
PIA | $11.95 | – | $3.33 |
ExpressVPN | $12.99 | – | $4.99 |
NordVPN | $12.99 | – | $4.59 |
CyberGhost | $12.99 | $6.99 | – |
SurfShark | $15.45 | – | – |
So get your 2-year plan while it’s still on the menu! If not, don’t worry, we’re still guarding the margins so it remains affordable to make the internet private by default, for everyone, everywhere.
